Industrial Liaison Officer
England, West Midlands, Coventry - £40,000 per annum

Our client a leading provider seeks an Industrial Liaison Officer.

This is a pivotal role to manage within the Aerospace Sector Team as an early career Business Development Engineer to manage industrial relationships with key customers in the Aerospace sector, to maximise order intake for the business whilst maintaining a good working relationship with customers and members.

Duties & Responsibilities:

*Approaching targeted companies and prospecting for opportunities applicable across the organisation
*Conducting tours for appropriate visitors.
*Presenting the company and its full capabilities to audiences both internally and externally
*Building a pipeline of opportunities and managing these leads through the early sales cycle stages to a point of qualification whereby these can then be passed on to the appropriate Engineering Themes.
*Developing relationships with key stakeholders and other sources where there are potential opportunities for organisaton to engage with end clients (for example Trade associations, Government funding bodies)
*Interfacing with the marketing team on campaigns to launch products or services. The Industrial Liaison Officer will be responsible for finding new leads, general prospecting and building the pipeline of opportunity.
*Work closely with each of the Aero member company representatives to assist them in mapping innovation opportunities and developing a pipeline of potential projects.
*Develop an understanding of the manufacturing technology capability of our technology teams to enable the development of projects and uptake of new manufacturing solutions and skills.
*Work with relevant engineering staff to develop proposals based on qualified opportunities for formal quotation and closure.

Candidate Specification:
*Business or Engineering degree
*Some experience in new customer acquisition as well as established account management.
*Flexible and willing to rapidly adapt to prioritise and manage conflicting demands in a small dynamic team.
*Able to work proactively and upon their own initiative while also ensure the cohesive involvement in the team.
*Able to engage and communicate effectively from shop floor to Senior Management.

Key Deliverables:KPI's will be set in relation to qualified opportunities value; pipeline conversion; and customer satisfaction.

Passionate about engineering and manufacturing.
Highly articulate, highly presentable, highly personable.
Good communicator with strong customer interpersonal skills.
Confidence to give presentations to a wide variety of audiences.
Ability to engage with customers from engineer level to CEO level.
Strong numeracy and literacy skills.
Commercial and financial awareness.

Direct B2B Sales experience.

Technical Skills and Knowledge
Knowledge of some aspect of the Manufacturing sector and its key challenges.
Direct Aerospace Manufacturing experience
Understanding of advanced manufacturing engineering systems

General Skills / Attributes
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills

Ability to develop relationships at all levels of an organization.

Have a proactive and flexible approach to work. A self-starter taking responsibility for achievement of tasks.

Excellent IT skills.

Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
Experience of R&D project engagement with the Aerospace Industry.

Experience: 2+ years Business Development or comparable experience

Experience of proposing, costing, pricing and winning work from industrial organisations in a competitive environment.

Although the job will be office based in Coventry, UK wide travel will be required.

Valid licence for driving in the UK.
